HISTORY OF SAN JOSE PILI NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
SAN JOSE PILI HIGH SCHOOL started its operation in school year 1995-1996 through the petition of the parents of barangay San Jose with Punong Barangay Clarita S. Bongon and nearby of thid municipality. The school was annexed temporarily to Pili National High School, Pili, Camarines Sur with to effectively facilitate the monitoring and supervision of academic instruction and other school concern. In the First Year of operation three(3) classes were opened from First year to Third year to respond to the clamor and demand of the parents, due to lack number of classroom, the school utilizes momentarily some of the elementary classrooms in Marcos Stadium now Freedom Sports Complex, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur with an enrolment of 95 students. It was then headed by Mrs. Belen B. Adriatico as the Teacher In-Charge.
In the year 2000, through the generosity of Governor Luis R. Villafuerte, a pavilion was built on its permanent site, this was the first building constructed in San Jose High School. It was a 2-storey, 4 classrooms building with a multi-purpose stage. In school year 2003-2004, another 6 classroom-building with a library and comfort rooms was constructed from the DepEd savings worth 3 million pesos. It was realized through the effort of Congressman Sulpicio S. Roco, Jr. and the Municipal Mayor of Pili, Hon. Thomas P. Bongalonta, Jr.
Through the effort and strong determination of the former Principal Mrs. Editha T. Ballester, San Jose High School was finally separated from its mother school. The Pili national High School and approved its new name SAN JOSE PILI HIGH SCHOOL last June 11. 2004, the school has a total land area of 7,913 square meters which was donated by the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through Hon. Luis R. Villafuerte, as Governor. The school has a total population of 637 students in school year 2004-2005, the school has 20 teachers, who were handling the different learning areas; 10 regular/ permanent teachers and 10 locally funded teachers headed by Mrs. Belen N. Adriatico respectively.
In school year 2007-2008, the school was given a computer room accommodating the 29 units of personal computers, equipped with 2 printers, a multi-media projector, with 2 air-conditioning units which were donated by the DTI and CICT, respectively. During that year the school has an existing 27 teachers/ personnel, one of whom was the school principal, Mrs. Editha T. Ballester, with 18 regular/permanent teachers and 13 locally funded teachers serving as class advisers and others were subject teachers. Honorarium of these locally funded teachers was taken from the municipal government of Pili, LGU-Province and PTA fund.
Last school year 2008-2009, the school was headed by Mrs. Lalaine V. Fabricante, Teacher III, acted as the Officer-in-charge (OIC) of the school since the former school principal had retired in the government service. The OIC of the school last for 3 months since on August 2008 Mr. Melecio A. Postrado assumed his position as principal of the school, through his creativity and facility oriented leaders he put up various improvement in the school such as: renovated the main gate in the school has started the construction of the classroom funded by the LGU Pili through the late mayor Alexis D. San Luis. And, in his administration, the LRV multi-purpose covered court was realized with the all-out support of the parents headed by the PTA President Mrs. Grace D. Palafox. Then, Principal Mr. Postrado, is now transferred to Rodriguez High School.
At present, the school has a total population of 1,031 students with 21 regular/permanent teachers, 12 locally- assisted teachers and 2 school guards both of them are receiving the monthly honorarium from the local government of Pili and PTA of San Jose Pili High School, respectively. And the new school principal, Mr. Edmundo B. Aladano has formally assumed office effective January 4, 2010, he is from Bagong Sirang, this municipality and a former principal of San Antonio National high school, Milaor, Camarines Sur.
